DEADLINES AND TIME LIMITATIONS FOR FILING

LIST OF INTERESTED PERSONSWithin 20 Days from the date of appointment of the personal representative.
INFORMATION REPORT and INVENTORYWithin 3 Months from the date of appointment of the personal representative.
ELECTION FOR MODIFIED ADMINISTRATION and CONSENT TO ELECTION FOR MODIFIED ADMINISTRATIONWithin 3 Months from the date of appointment of the personal representative.
CLAIMSOn or before the earlier of: (a) 6 months from the date of decedent's death *; (b) 9 months from the date of decedent's death; or (c) 2 months after the personal representative mails or otherwise delivers to a creditor a copy of the published notice or other written notice.
PETITION FOR ALLOWANCE OF CLAIMWithin 60 Days after the mailing of the notice of disallowance of claim.
INITIAL ACCOUNTWithin 9 Months from the date of appointment of the personal representative.
SUBSEQUENT ACCOUNTSWithin 6 Months from the order file date of the preceding account.
FINAL REPORT UNDER MODIFIED ADMINISTRATIONWithin 10 Months from the date of appointment of the personal representative. The personal representative may obtain up to two 3-month extensions to file the Final Report.
FINAL DISTRIBUTION UNDER MODIFIED ADMINISTRATIONWithin 12 Months from the date of appointment of the personal representative, final distribution of the estate shall be made. Final distribution may be made later if the personal representative has obtained extensions to the filing of the Final Report.
ELECTION OF SURVIVING SPOUSE TO TAKE ELECTIVE SHAREOn or before the later of 9 months from the date of death or 6 months after first date of appointment of a Personal Representative. **

* Except if the decedent died before October 1, 1992.
** For decedents dying prior to 1/1/04, the Election of the Surviving Spouse must be filed within 7 months after date of first appointment of the personal representative.
*** For decedents dying prior to 1/1/04, a Disclaimer must have been filed within 9 months from the date of death.
